Community Languages Victoria has been contracted by the Victorian Department of Education to provide professional learning activities for Victorian Community Language Schools Teachers to strengthen the delivery of quality language programs to school-aged children.

Each semester Community Languages Victoria conducts a series of professional learning activities including:

  • Professional Development Sessions
  • LOTE Methodology Courses
  • First Aid Courses
  • Conference

    2026 Empower & Engage – CLS Teachers’ Summit



    A Practical Community Language Teachers Summit
    Saturday 18 April 2026
    Monash University, Clayton Campus

    PROGRAM OVERVIEW

    The day begins with a whole-group Opening Session in South 1 Lecture Theatre, followed by morning tea and then focused workshop streams.
  • 10:30am – Opening Session (Welcome & Key Speeches)
  • 11:30am – Morning Tea & Networking
  • 12:00pm – Workshop Streams (2 hours)


  • Participants will choose one of three 2-hour focused streams:
  • Early Years (Kinder)
  • Primary Years (Prep–Year 6)
  • Secondary Years (Years 7–10)


  • Each workshop is structured for maximum practical impact:
  • 60-minute live demonstration
  • 45-minute guided lesson design breakout
  • 15-minute share & reflect

    Teacher Training Courses


    We’re pleased to announce that registrations are now open for the Semester 1, 2026 Language Methodology Courses offered by RMIT University, Monash University and Victoria University.

    These courses provide valuable professional development opportunities for teachers across Chinese, Vietnamese, and Mixed Languages.

    Important Details:
  • Delivery Format: All courses are delivered fully online.
  • Limited Spots Available: Early registration is strongly encouraged to secure a place.
  • Start Dates: Please note the start dates listed on each flyer and mark your calendars. Full course outlines will be shared with confirmed participants.
  • Registration Process: A separate form must be submitted for each teacher you wish to enrol.
  • Confirmation: Only confirmed participants will receive access to course materials and session links.

    First Aid Courses


    Community Languages Victoria has coordinated a series of First Aid and CPR training sessions for Term 2.

    These sessions are delivered by a nationally recognised training provider (CPR First Aid) and have been centrally organised by CLV to ensure accessibility, consistency, and quality for community language schools.

    Important Note on Pricing

    These courses are not free. However, CLV has negotiated discounted group rates to make the training as accessible as possible:
  • CPR (HLTAID009): $90 per participant
  • First Aid + CPR (HLTAID011): $130 per participant

    Each session is strictly limited to 24 participants. Please note: The First Aid course (HLTAID011) already includes CPR. If you are booking this course, you do not need to book the CPR (HLTAID009) session separately.
